Soy Wax Fire Starters
Fire starters are readily available in stores, but this is a fun way to fill your house with a lovely smell as the fire burns.
These wax fire starters are very similar to a candle, but have combustible items such as dried leaves,sawdust, bark and pine cones to help get the fire going.
PLEASE NOTE: These are meant to be fire starters, DO NOT use them as candles, ONLY use them to start your fire!
YOU WILL NEED:-These wax fire starters are very similar to a candle, but have combustible items such as dried leaves,sawdust, bark and pine cones to help get the fire going.

- Soy wax
- Cypress, Cedarwood or Pine essential oil
- Small pieces of bark/Sawdust/Baby Pine Cones
- Dried Sage leaves/ dried Rosemary
- Star Anise Seed whole
- Basic molds (circle, heart or cup cake)
- Pouring pot
- Thermometer
While you are waiting for the wax to melt, fill each mold with bark, sawdust and dried herbs, you want to fill the mold about 3/4 full.
Cut candle wicks into 3 equal pieces (you can use left over wicks it you have any from previous projects.
Allow the wax to reach approx 180 degrees and add your essential oil, mix well.
Fill each cavity of your mold with the melted soy wax
Let the wax set slightly and place a wick in the center of your fire starter. Now decorate each fire starter with Star Anise seed.
Once they have set, your homemade fire starters are now are now ready to use! Enjoy!
The amount of soy wax and essential oil you use is up to you, depending on your taste and how many fire starters you are wanting to make.
